Jeremy: "Do you think Tyler needs to "e" "a" "t" before bed?" (eat was spelled out)
Tyler: EAT EAT EAT!
He has a few tricks up his sleeve to get out of bed time that one!
Oh and Tyler informed us of the following today:
"Caterpillars, turn it, butterfly!"

Duck Duck Goose Tyler Style
So I'm getting fatter and fatter. Yes yes I know: "you're not fat, you're pregnant..." Whatever! Well running around with Tyler is getting harder, so we came up with a great game.
Tyler puts all his animals in the middle of the rooom. He walks around them, patting them one by one saying "Duck Duck Goose". When he lands on one he likes, he says Goose and starts running as fast as he can down the hall. I grab the one he picked (all while still sitting down) and chuck it at him. If I hit him, I win. If I don't, he wins. It's a great game!
Oh - a little while ago, Tyler told me to come in and see. He was so proud. When I came in to see he said "Mom, Duck Frog, sleep" I guess those little socks are their blankets. He was proud he got them all ready for bed.

Our Perfect Day...
Yesterday I decided was the perfect day.
(this picture was taken the other day when Tyler had his first j-dawg... that could have been part of a perfect day too!)
- Woke up and let Tyler pick out his big boy underwear- the winner was Spiderman with the green monster on the back.
- Went to the gym. I got sweaty, did 1/2 a yoga class, cardio and a little lifting. Jeremy did cardio and lifting.
- I got Tyler from the gym daycare, took him potty, and he was stoked to show me the picture he colored (green).
- We then went home and ate some homemade pita pizza on 100% whole wheat crust with turkey pepperoni.
- We got ready and went to the pool. Jeremy and I took turns playing with Tyler, mixed with a few minutes of tanning. Tyler swam 2 feet and was so proud.
- We went for a Maverick and kept driving until Tyler fell asleep for his nap.
- During Tyler's nap we got a little work and cleaning done.
- Tyler woke up and we took him to Chick-Fil-A. He has been asking to go there for 2 weeks. There's a play-place there... He shrieked with JOY at the site of the place!
- Went home and got ready for Tyler's FIRST movie theater experience. We saw the movie UP. Tyler sat still the whole time, loved it, and stayed dry between potty breaks.
- We came home, Tyler fell asleep on the way and went to bed.
Weiss Tech Summer Camps
So we're finally through the Weiss Tech Summer Camps. This year felt longer and busier then most (probably because it was). The camp lasted 7 weeks instead of 6 because we took a week off in the middle for our Canada Trip. Also this year we opened up our sessions in Provo again. We haven't been down there in 3 years. So all in all we had 5 sessions, over 100 kids, and were in Provo, Salt Lake and Bountiful.
We sure do enjoy doing the camps. Jeremy is amazing with the kids and is great at what he does. On the last day of one of the sessions, we got Tyler all decked out with his new stuff from Canada and I worked with him on one end of the rink (since Jeremy was doing the actual camp). He absolutely LOVED it. He was in skates for an hour and a half and still never asked me to take them off. He even shot a puck without falling! Seriously Tyler is so so so much fun these days, we're trying to soak it up and enjoy every minute!

Tyler's Toilet Training -THE EASIEST THING
Well from my Tyler's Tonsils = Tired post you may have gathered that Tyler has been awesome, yet "hard". We have finally been given a HUGE break. I think it's safe to say he's Daytime Toilet Trained! He has gone 2 weeks with 1 accident that was our own fault.
It started when he was 16 months, he went on the toilet and LOVED IT. Well since then he has gone here and there but we never actually took the "plunge" because we travel a lot for hockey. Then we had the big Canada trip, with car rides and too much going on. Well the day after we got home from Canada we put Tyler in a pull up. It was a CARS pull up. We told him he couldn't pee or poo in it. Well 10 minutes later, it was full of pee and poop. We took it off him and said he couldn't have another pull up until the next day and that he had to wear a baby diaper every time he peed or pooped in his pull-up.

The next day he stayed dry... and the next and the next and the next... and that's a wrap. He couldn't bear to ruin another CARS pull up. And he's never even SEEN the movie? He will run to me and go "POOP MOMMY POOP!" in a frantic state.
Well Thursday we got him the real deal underwear.. He wanted spiderman ones but our Walmart was out, luckily Grandma Lori found some at Kmart...Here are some pictures of him discovering all sorts of fun things in his big boy underwear...Are all boys this in love with the hole in their underwears?!?!?!

Camping- At Least Tyler Likes it
So the Godfreys and the Turgeons went camping this last weekend. It was fun (if you like camping and you aren't 6 months pregnant and have to pee all night anyways). We went from Friday to Saturday and the plus side of it was there was a few pools and my mom and aunt took care of all the food. So I guess I didn't really have to do much work... I just get grumpy when I'm too hot.
My mom got Tyler this backpack that had a whistle, a water bottle, a flashlight and a sleeping bag in it. HE ABSOLUTELY loved it. He still wears the backpack around and talks about camping all the time. I wish he hated it, so I could refuse to go :)

Tyler = Tonsils = TIRED!
So if you haven't seen me in 2 years, I've been tired. Mostly because Tyler still doesn't really sleep through the night. We have been "struggling" with it but coping nonetheless still in love with little Tyler. We have also listened to plenty of advice, talked to the Doctor, and sometimes not taken all that seriously when we say Tyler is a horrible sleeper... (you know the "oh every kid is hard look")
Well a week or 2 ago, Jeremy was brushing Tyler's teeth and noticed out of the blue that Tyler's tonsils were really really big. He told me and I looked it up on the internet. I was thinking toddlers must just have big tonsils. Well as I googled the topic I was AMAZED! The descriptions of toddlers with large tonsils described Tyler to T!
Apparently when kids have big big tonsils, their airway gets blocked causing them to snore (Tyler snores BIG TIME). The lack of oxygen causes them to have sleep apnea which is when they stop breathing for a second then their brain kicks in and makes them breathe. The thing with this, is that they body never gets into the REM sleep which is the RESTFUL sleep and the kids end up exausted all the time and wake up all the time. This in turn causes them to be exausted during the day and sometimes act kind of spazztic ;) Oh and they also gets lots of ear infections etc (Tyler has had 4 or 5).
Another interesting note is that a lot of kids diagnosed with ADHD actually just have sleep apnea and are over-tired (Yes a couple people have asked me if I was planning on medicating Tyler when he was older!). I have never thought he had ADHD for the record.
Anyways, I'm on a soap box here.... We went to the specialist, the long and short of it is that Tyler needs a tonsillechtomy. The Doctor looked in his mouth and immediately said "YES, these are LARGE!". He actually figured they were by how Tyler was breathing, before he even LOOKED in his mouth. I'm borderline scared to death of this whole thing, but the risks of not doing the surgery are worse because the sleep apnea can wear on his heart (I don't know how exactly, it made sense when the Dr explained it though).
The Doctor said his sleeping will be much different. He'll go to sleep and wake up rested without waking up?!!!?!?!?!? That's still near unbelievable to me!

Time is Flying!
Canada Trip!
At the end of June early July, Jeremy's extended Weiss Family had their reunion in Alberta. As you can image we were so excited to go and had a fabulous time! We were worried about Tyler in a car ride that long but he did amazingly well and enjoyed the trip as much as we did. I'm going to do a travel log now, mostly for my memories but hey - if you want to read it - go for it.
Friday June 26, 2009
We left around 2 and drove half way to Great Falls Montana.Tyler was awake the first 2 hours, slept the next 2, then after he couldn't take it anymore we stopped for a little picnic then drove on. The last couple hours he was asleep.
I bought him this little basket and called it his "Canada Basket". He was allowed to pick a handful of toys at the Dollar Store, but wasn't allowed playing with them until we were in the car. I think this actually really helped him be excited for the first day of 8 hours in the car.
Saturday June 27, 2009
We woke up and drove to Calgary. At the first gas station we stopped and got some all dressed chips. YUM! We went to Gary and Anita's house - Jeremy's aunt and uncle. We spent a little while visiting with them. I LOVE their family. Jeremy was living with them in Toronto when we met, so they feel like another set of real family to me.
We left Calgary with Matt- Jer's almost brother cousin and drove up to Edmonton. That 3 hour car ride was kind of long and boring- We had been in the car 5 hours already. OH WAIT- Before we did that car ride we Stopped at Harveys- DELICIOUS. Tyler had his first Hot Dog and LOVED it.
We got to Edmonton and settled in at the Hotel. Stan and Lori and the girls were in one room, us in the next and Mike and Jodi in the next. We all made it in around the same time. We took a 2 hour break in Calgary, while the Weiss car took a 2 hour GPS detour ;)
We went swimming that night and Tyler proved that he was deathly afraid of water. How can he be MY kid? I guess he takes after Jeremy in that regard. He loves shallow water but as soon as he feels like he is not in control in the deep end, even while being held he FREAKS out.
Later that night we went on a journey to find a Tim Hortons. Jeremy was driving with Matt and Tyler in our car, and I was with all the girls in another car. Jeremy is not the guy you want with you when finding your way around town- sorry my love. He started by having no idea where to go and then finished it up by purposely taking us on a wild goose chase. Jodi was starving and kinda mad ;) I figured out Jer was trying to be funny so I just laughed -I am married to a tease- I'm used to it. We ended up eating at Pizza 73, a chain bought by Pizza Pizza. It wasn't exactly like Pizza Pizza, but it was better then any Utah Pizza...

Sunday June 28, 2009
This was the day the whole group went to the West Edmonton Mall. It's a huge mall with a water park, amusement park, sea world type place and ice rink. Jeremy and Matt spent all day at the Waterpark. Lori and I took Lexi and Tyler around on all the little kiddie rides at the Amusement park. We're both not real ride fans, and being 5 months pregnant I'm not really allowed on any anyways.
For breakfast we went to Tim Hortons and Jeremy ate 5 donuts. I had one and Tyler munched on Jeremy's Boston Cream. After Tyler got one Donut, he yelled "WOOOOHOOOO" jumped up on the table and leaped over to the donut and took some more. I guess there is a food Tyler gets excited about.
For dinner that night the whole Weiss clan went to East Side Marios. It's not a restaurant I went to ALL the time growing up, but Jeremy went there before every hockey game and loaded up on pasta. Even though I didn't got there a lot, I LOVED it. Food is somehow just yummier in Canada. When we got there, Tyler was asleep and he barely woke up to eat. He played a "cho cho" game with Mikey and Lexi on Chairs afterwards.

Monday June 29, 2009
This was maybe one of the best and worst days of Jeremy's life. We woke up and he had one goal in mind. Find skates small enough for Tyler's feet. Well after a few phone calls we found a place called United Cycle. We drove over there and Jeremy was as happy as a little boy on Christmas morning. First we found the size 6 skates. The guys at the store thought he was pretty cute and that he had good balance.. hehe. Then we found the helmets and he LOVED it. He even insisted on wearing it in the car. Then we found the sticks and Tyler was so impressed that the guy cut it for him. He was sooooo into it, it was adorable! That was the "best" part of the day.
So after we got all the stuff, we drove back to the mall to meet the family at the ice rink. As we pulled into the mall parking lot Tyler fell asleep for a long overdo, NEEDED nap. We woke him up after about 30 seconds of being asleep and dragged him in anyways. He was kind of furious. So we got him all dressed and he would NOT cooperate. He was so tired he kept falling asleep. That was the "worst" part of the day for Jeremy. We finally left and Tyler was asleep before we got out of the parking lot. Poor little guy.
After the skating fiasco, we drove back to Calgary to have dinner with some of our good friends from Toronto that had moved out West. Matt Weiss, Carissa "Ormston" Molcak and Rob McDougal! It was so fun seeing them again and their way cute kids. We had a really nice BBQ at Carissa's house and just visited and caught up. It reminded me of fun times we had back home growing up. It's amazing how you can make lifelong friends in highschool, go years without talking and then feel totally at home with them again.
After the dinner we went back to Gary and Anita's and slept over. This is where Tyler fell in love with cousin Zach. Zach is Jeremy's cousin that is Jasmine's age and Tyler thought he was the coolest person ever. Zach did a great job playing and helping with Tyler all week at the reunion. We wanted to take him home with us. We had fun again visiting with Gary and Anita's family.

Tuesday June 30, 2009
Today was the Swiss Chalet day. YUM. We went with Gary and Anita's family and I somehow made it through the meal with only 3 sauces. I was too embarrassed to ask for a needed 4th. Tyler did a good job sleeping in the car rides for naps and loved Ketchup chips. He called them the "cool" chips.
After lunch we traveled down to Cardston to the actual reunion part of the trip. The drive wasn't too bad, only a couple hours or so and Tyler slept so it was pretty easy. We go to the hotel and started visiting with people. There was a dinner at the church near Jo-Annes house and Tyler kept trying to escape over and over again. We have to be so careful with him. There is no assuming he'll just play in one spot for more then 30 seconds.

Wednesday July 1, 2009
HAPPY CANADA DAY! This was a fun Canada Day! The whole family (extended around 50 people) went on a rafting trip down a river just off where Jeremy's Grandparents lived when they were first married. We even got to get off the rafts and go see inside the old house. The house was abandoned and falling down but it was still interesting. There was all sorts of wood working and you could see some great personality in the house even though it was almost gone.
The raft trip itself was pretty fun. I was a little terrified about Tyler trying to escape the raft, however turns out he was scared to death and stayed holding onto my hand the whole time. It was the easiest time to watch him because he didn't move! After the raft trip, there was a big lunch put on by the rafting company that Jeremy's cousin works for. It was the first time I was hungry the whole trip because we had been on a raft for a few hours! (yes I pigged out a little while we were in the good old land of the TREATS!)
After the raft trip there was a big game night and visiting night back at the hotel. I did all the little girls hair as a tradition in a fancy up-do. I like doing 10 year old girls hair because they don't get picky or notice if there are flaws.
After the game night we went and saw fireworks. Tyler was a little unsure about them but he loved them. He did the blank stare he usually does when something is cool but unfamiliar.

Thursday July 2, 2009
This was the day the whole Weiss Clan went up to Waterton... A BEAUTIFUL national park of sorts with a little town inside and lake. Really! It was so breathtaking there. I love the mountains in Utah, however you don't see GREEN mountains that often. This place had it all. I want to go back and spend days there! We had a picnic lunch then spent the day in the shops, eating ice cream and hanging out. You would think by day 7 of a vacation you would want to go home, but I didn't ever want to leave!
This is the day that Lori got Tyler his Canada Pajamas "CANA JAMAS" that he LOVES LOVES LOVES, and I got tons of treats to bring home. I am gonna have to tell my doctor the weight gain at the next appointment was Canada induced, not pregnancy induced.
Later that night the reunion pretty much ended with a BBQ and some stories etc. Jeremy's family is a good family. I actually feel really blessed to like my in-laws so much. I have a lot of fun at his reunions and enjoy being with them.

Friday July 3, 2009
Drove home! We went straight since it was "only" 12 hours. We went a different way then Jeremy's parents and about half way through found out it was a race- We even won! haha! I wanted to trust the locals about which was was least confusing (Stan wanted us to follow him - but with no working cell phones and maps I stubbornly declined. I guess Helena Montana is where the two routes merge. We got there first even with a long bathroom break. Jeremy's sisters informed me he kept asking Lori to text us to find out where we were... I couldn't figure out why they cared so much. Needless to say it was kind of funny!
We got home late and crashed. Back to real life :(

My attempt at remembering Tyler's toddlerhood....
Since I don't do a very good job keeping a journal, here goes a random little story for me to remember one day.....
Tylers nap today: After being locked in his room he finally gives up and falls asleep on the floor. Tosses and turns, wakes up after 20 minutes.... I hear some noises and some anger, but leave him in there because he is for surely still tired. After he has gone back to sleep and has been asleep for a little while, I go in and find the wet wipe box emptied, his diaper next to it and him, naked, on the floor, asleep. And yes, this is after I purposely put a onesie with tough buttons on him to avoid this kind of thing.
Oh and since Tyler has heard me talk about the baby kicking enough now, he's is CERTAIN the baby should be named "Soccer".
Tylers nap today: After being locked in his room he finally gives up and falls asleep on the floor. Tosses and turns, wakes up after 20 minutes.... I hear some noises and some anger, but leave him in there because he is for surely still tired. OUCH CHARLIE!
So Tyler takes things pretty literally. After watching this and LOVIN it, every time he gets hurt he says "OUCH CHARLIE!". Each morning when he gets his hair brushed he cries and screams "OUCH CHARLIE!" It's kind of hilarious.
If you haven't seen this, it's a total must!

Is it JUST me?
So for my first pregnancy picture I took with Tyler at 19 weeks, I remember pushing my belly out as far as I could so I could look cute and pregnant.
Let me tell you this, when I take my first one with this baby at 19 weeks (next week) I'M gonna be SUCKING IN!

Happy Birthday to Tyler!
For Tyler's 2nd Birthday we took him to Chuck E Cheese and let him play. We told all the aunts and uncles, and grandparents, if they wanted to join they were welcome. I still think he's too young to organize elaborate themed, friend parties so I kept it simple. He sure did love it.
Now whenever he sees any form of fire he starts singing "Happy Birthday" to himself. The whole blowing out the candles thing was AWESOME to him.
Please note the "please no standing" sign on the toys Tyler IS standing on. He actually got all the way IN the basketball game and was mighty impressed with himself since he was eye level with the hoop and was dunking the ball all over the place.

Tyler the problem solver

So I still have to post Easter, Graduation, Vegas, AND Nicole's wedding pictures, but they are all on facebook, so I dont' feel that guilty... but this is funny.
Tyler loves to put money in his mouth. Well today he had a penny and would NOT stop putting it in his mouth. Finally I took it from him and said no more pennies. Well a few minutes later, after he had been in "penny time out" for long enough I told him he could have it if he only put it between his toes. He likes holding it between his toes in the carseat.
So I gave it back and he obediently put it between his toes. About 4 seconds later, he had his entire foot (along with the penny) in his mouth. I said "TYLER!!!!" He quickly said "toes, toes" and showed me that the penny was indeed still between his toes.
Riiiiight.
Oh and he doesn't think the number 4 comes after 3,
HE goes like this
1, 2, 3, "TIME OUT" then he laughs at me...
It still makes me laugh.... for now.

Easter
I'm so excited! The Easter Bunny is getting ready for tomorrow and Tyler is gonna love it. We have been telling him all day that a Bunny is going to come to our house and hid chocolate for him. He's been repeating all day:
"Bunny? Hide? Chocolate?"
Holidays are fun again! (sorry but from the age of like 15-25, Easter wasn't that rad)

Jeremy's Sister's Recital
For those of you don't know, Jeremy's little sister Jessica is a phenomenal piano player. She is graduating from BYU this April as a piano performance major. She had her big huge recital tonight. Like practice 8 hours a day for months HUGE. Anyways, she played incredibly (not that I would be able to tell - I am a Godfrey - musically challenged). After the whole family went to celebrate at PF Changs. It was really yummy. I'm lucky enough to have great in-laws!

Laundry....RIIIIIIIIGHT
Jeremy comes upstairs in a rampage tonight and says.... Julie "I have a bone to pick with you!" I immediately try to remember if I left all my files open on his computer - he hates that....
He proceeds to say, you left wet laundry in the machine again, I do that toO... but this time, you also left wet clothes in the dryer with a dryer sheet laid on top - you just never started it? I might have to remove your laundry privileges!
I said go ahead and do that! PLEASE!
