HALF MARATHON
I've always been kind of curious as to why people run marathons. Last summer decided I would run a half marathon. 13.1 miles was a distance I felt like I could handle. I trained for a couple months, used my watch to keep track of times and what not. Ran 1 mile extra each Saturday, and did other running training through out the week. I worked with Stacey at the gym who was a running coach at the time but now we're family friends! I had 2 goals - One was to never walk it, the other was to run it in 2.5 hours. I decided on a night run, since mornings and me don't get along. Well on August 12th I did it. I ran 13.1 miles, didn't stop, and did it in 2 hours and 33 minutes. I was pretty proud, but by the end of it was still curious as to why people run marathons?!
